Berlin Exploring - Who We Are
|
Sandra Pyne Co-Founder of Berlin Exploring
I moved from the UK to the old east Berlin in 1999, the year Berlin became Germany’s official capital again after reunification.
I now live in west Berlin. I have a background in teaching and lexicography, including a period at Oxford University Press as a dictionary compiler.
Berlin is more than vibrant – it’s incandescent – and an inspiring place to work creatively on art, to discuss literature or to tour its many historical
and cultural places of interest. And the beer is pretty good too!

David Kinder Co-Founder of Berlin Exploring
After having spent more than 20 years in the UK Civil Service, I moved to Italy to co-found Tuscany Walking, offering fully organised
guided walking holidays in northern Tuscany. Berlin Exploring extends the same successful concept - offering the luxury of an organised holiday for independent travellers.
My experience of leading groups in Tuscany, and now the German capital, will allow you to spend your holiday time doing that most important of things, relaxing!

Steve Gilbert Driver for Berlin Exploring
I came from the UK to Berlin to experience the art and music scene nearly 30 years ago. I’ll be doing the driving involved in airport pickups
and day trips for Berlin Exploring. I know the city inside out and I’ve had first-hand experience of many of the changes that have shaped Berlin over
the last decades, plus the background and stories that go with them. On your free day you can also hire me privately for your very own personal taxi
tour of Berlin and hear, for example, just how it felt to be here on the day the wall came down and immediately afterwards. Art and photography take
up a lot of my spare time. If you’d like to look at some of my work, go to www.art-by-smgilbert.com.

Berlin Exploring is a small, independently-run company
specializing in touring and painting holidays in Berlin. Because you will be dealing directly with the company’s founders on a daily
basis, you can be sure that our commitment to quality and satisfaction is at its highest.
On a Berlin Exploring vacation or weekend break in Berlin, you can expect to be part of a group of between about 4 to 15 people.
Because we keep the group size relatively small, each holiday will be tailored to fit your group’s dynamic and needs. You can expect to feel
like an independent traveller with the luxury of having your itinerary planned so that you get the best combination of stimulation and
relaxation on your holiday. You won’t need to worry about how to get to the most interesting places or the best restaurants
because at Berlin Exploring we have it all planned. And if you have any questions about anything, from who built the Brandenburg Gate
to what’s on at the opera, we will be there to answer them.
As soon as you book a weekend break, painting holiday or vacation in Berlin with Berlin Exploring, we will contact you personally to
give you details of the highlights on the city’s calendar so if there is anything you want to see, from a jazz concert to a football match,
we can book tickets in advance so they are ready for you when you arrive. All at no extra charge - you just pay the ticket price. We will
even arrange transport to and from the event (at your cost).
A vacation with Berlin Exploring offers you a holiday with the kind of attention to detail and personal service that we haven’t
seen on offer anywhere else in Berlin. The price you pay is, apart from what you choose to spend on your evening meals and your free day, all-inclusive. We don’t
believe an individual could put together a similar holiday at a better price. Still have questions? Then contact us at enquiries@berlinexploring.com
and we’ll be pleased to give you all the information you need.
We’ll be even more pleased to meet you in Berlin!
Best wishes,
Sandra Pyne and David Kinder
