| 1. A morning view across the Havel from Wannsee, a favourite "away-from-it-all" spot for many Berliners.
2. The Hansel and Gretel track runss the length of the Wannsee forest from the town of Wannsee to the Havel near Potsdam.
3. Nesting boxes can be seen on many o fthe trees within the forest and are a great help in keeping a healthy bird population in the forest.
4. Pfauneninsel (Peacock Island), lies off the northern side of the Wansee Forest.

5. The western side of the forest is occupied by the Volkspark at Klein Glienicke
6. The Heilandskirche at Sacrow. This church stood exactly on the south-west border between Berlin and the old East Germany.
It was badly damaged in 1961 to ensure that it could no longer be used for services.
The bell tower was part of the border until the fall of the Wall in 1989 when services were resumed.
7. The "Bridge of Spies" or Glienicke Bruecke. A border crossing and exchange point on the southern reaches of the Berlin Wall.
8. The waterways around Wannsee are used as a leisure and sports facility for the serious and for those looking for relaxation.
